Internship Description

Sally Fischer Public Relations is a successful Manhattan-based boutique agency specializing in media relations, promotion, and special events, crafting strategies for our clients, which accomplish short-term and long-term goals for image creation, maintenance, and/or repositioning.  We represent American and European clients in the lifestyle arena, in fields as diverse as architecture and design, entertainment, fashion and style, food and wine, art, culture and collectibles, publishing, non-profit, travel, hotels and spas. This is an educational internship designed for students who wish to pursue a career in public relations and communications. Students receive a crash course in PR while receiving hands-on experience in an agency. As an intern at SFPR you will work alongside our team of account executives to create pressreleases, invitations, and press pitches. There are also opportunities to get involved in our special events that occur throughout the year.  We require at least a 3-month commitment at SFPR and 3-5 days/week commitment (flexible).

Qualifications for Applicant

A hard working, detail-oriented person who is interested in PR.  Strong writing and research skills are important along with media and culture awareness. Understanding of the Italian language is helpful but not required. Strong social media skills a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

Interns have direct involvement in all aspects of PR. They work closely with the account executives to create press books, write/draft press releases, manage social media, contact media, interact with clients, and produce special events. Our program allows interns to work on projects that they can later incorporate into their professional portfolios, and they are encouraged to maintain an ongoing relationship with the agency for career advice and future employment opportunities. Depending on availability interns come in between 3-5 days a week. Position is unpaid; however, college credit is offered.
